The work-study contract is a continuing professional training program, offered through a 12-month employment contract available to final-year engineering students.

Recruit a student under a Professionalization Contract

  At Polytech Clermont, professionalization contracts can be offered to final-year engineering students in the following five specialties:

  • Biological Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Embedded Systems, Electrical Energy and Robotics (Electrical Engineering)
  • Physical Engineering
  • Mathematical Engineering and Data Science

Benefits for your company

  • Train a future employee: Train a final-year engineering student in your methods and business practices, and assess a potential future collaborator under real conditions.
  • Training funding: The full or partial cost of training may be covered by your OPCO (Skills Operator).
  • Controlled salary cost: Minimum remuneration depends on the student’s age (65% to 85% of the minimum wage or the minimum salary of the relevant professional sector). The student is not counted in the company’s total workforce, and no end-of-contract indemnity is required.
  • Financial incentives and tax exemptions: For example, a reduction of employer social contributions.
  • Administrative support: Polytech Clermont assists you with administrative procedures.

Training and financing

The training is billed to the company proportionally to the number of hours provided by Polytech Clermont, varying according to the specialty. The hourly rate is €17.50 (public institution, not subject to VAT according to article 261-4-4°a of the French General Tax Code).

Instructions

  1. Write a job description matching the missions of the professionalization contract (as approved by the school contract manager) and send it to the External Relations Service of Polytech Clermont: formation-continue.polytech@uca.fr
  2. Once the student is selected, complete all required fields in the information form and send the company’s latest K-bis to the External Relations Service: formation-continue.polytech@uca.fr
  3. Request the "Professionalization Contract" guide for the relevant program from the External Relations Service.
  4. Complete and validate the Cerfa form (12434*05) "Professionalization Contract" and send it to the External Relations Service: formation-continue.polytech@uca.fr
  5. Check and sign the training agreement established by the External Relations Service.
  6. Send to the OPCO within 5 working days after the contract start: the completed Cerfa, training agreement, schedule, RNCP sheet, and training content.
  7. The OPCO submits the contract to DREETS within 20 days for approval and financing decision.
  8. Submit a prior employment declaration to URSSAF.
  9. Request a work permit extension from the prefecture if the student is foreign (non-EEA countries, Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino).
  10. Send the OPCO financing agreement to the External Relations Service as soon as received.
