Home Insurance
It is a requirement. You must take out insurance for the duration of your apartment rental (covering fire, water damage, theft, etc.). Student mutual insurance companies (la Mutuelle des Étudiants and S.M.E.R.R.A.) offer contracts at attractive rates (civil liability and home insurance packages are available).

Housing Assistance
In principle, all housing is eligible for APL and ALS paid by the CAF (Caisse d’Allocations Familiales).
Parents who receive family benefits on behalf of the student will no longer receive them if the student receives housing assistance. Therefore, before applying, it is recommended to estimate the amount of aid on www.caf.fr

Housing Tax
CROUS housing is exempt from housing tax.
For new students at Polytech Clermont, a limited quota of CROUS-managed housing is allocated each year to our school to welcome new students, whether they are scholarship holders or not (priority is given to non-scholarship holders). This housing is reserved for one year.
The "OK Définitif" (Final OK) response on the recruitment site triggers the sending of the accommodation document via email.
Commitment to respecting the internal rules and regulations is mandatory.

CROUS Housing
To obtain a scholarship or housing, you must submit your student social file (DSE) request on the website of the CROUS for the academy where you are currently enrolled between March 15 and May 15 for enrollment in the next academic year.
Four types of housing are available to you: rooms, studios, studettes (small studios), and public housing (HLM) apartments.

Private University Residences
Polytech Clermont has a partnership agreement with "Les Estudines" and "Stud’City" residences, allowing Polytech students to be exempt from administrative fees (excluding the move-in inventory).

Dining

Polytech Clermont is located in the heart of the university campus and close to student dining facilities.
The Clermont-Ferrand CROUS offers three types of dining options:

  • THE RESTO U: A full meal for €3.30 (non-scholarship) / €1 (scholarship holder or student in financial hardship) consisting of a starter, a main course, cheese or dessert, and bread.
  • THE CAFETERIA: The menu is à la carte: elaborate dishes of the day, grilled items, varied starters, mixed salads, pizzas, numerous desserts, pastries...
  • THE KIOSK: A friendly space for students to gather: sandwiches, paninis, croque-monsieur, bagnat breads, salads, raw vegetables, dairy products, pastries, sweets, hot and cold drinks, and breakfast depending on the site...
Various dining locations are available in Clermont and just a few steps from the school on the Cézeaux campus.
In the Polytech Clermont student lounge, the "Le Total" association offers snacks in a relaxation area where students meet during breaks and at the end of the afternoon. All information: CROUS Clermont
