On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Slim ABDELKAFI, Director of the University of Sfax – ENIS and Professor in the Algae Biotechnology Unit, met with Jane Roche, Head of International Relations at Polytech Clermont, Raphaël Tobias, Head of International Relations at Clermont Auvergne INP, and Guillaume Pierre, Head of the Biological Engineering Department. The objectives of these exchanges during the welcome week were multiple: to promote mobility (for both students and teacher-researchers), sustain research collaborations and doctoral training, propose several lectures for Biological Engineering students, and organize a research seminar within the Process Engineering, Energy and Biosystems (GePEB) axis of the Institut Pascal.

Meeting with **Slim ABDELKAFI**, Professor at the **University of Sfax (Tunisia)** and Director of the **National School of Engineers of Sfax (ENIS)**, also head of a research team at the **Laboratory of Enzymatic Engineering and Microbiology**.

An overview of the actions carried out with the school?

There are four double-degree agreements between **Polytech Clermont** and **ENIS** across four specialties. Each year, four to six students participate in this program. Numerous exchanges of teachers and students take place annually as part of the collaboration between the **Institut Pascal** and **ENIS**.

Why choose Polytech Clermont?

**Polytech Clermont** is a multidisciplinary public engineering school that is part of a large network. The quality of teaching is therefore high. The research axes developed at the **Institut Pascal** are current and have a direct impact on development.

What are the prospects for this collaboration?

Several faculty exchanges will take place in the coming years to strengthen the double-degree program. Regarding research activities, new PhD students will be enrolled in international joint supervision programs and will be funded by research projects to be submitted soon.
