Recently arriving at Polytech Clermont, Matthew (Matt) Gombeda is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago, United States. An Academic Journey Between the United States and France
  

Professor and researcher in the United States, Matthew Gombeda supervises the "Concrete Materials and Structures" laboratory at IIT, where he develops applied research projects on concrete materials and structures. His visit to Polytech Clermont is part of an international framework: he was invited as a visiting professor to teach a course on blast-resistant structural design, deliver a research seminar, and supervise a Polytech Clermont student who will visit IIT in Spring 2026.
