From May 15 to 23, 2023, Seim Werner, professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Kassel, met with Rostand Moutou Pitti, Senior Lecturer at Polytech Clermont. He visited INP-UCA last year and found the academic environment very creative, active, and well-equipped. He is very pleased to return today to further strengthen the cooperation.

Meeting with Seim Werner, professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Kassel (Germany). He leads the Wood Engineering Research Group and Laboratory.

Overview of activities with the school?

During my stay, I will do the same to support the development of ongoing Erasmus cooperation. Bringing together young people – both students and researchers – in civil engineering is the most important challenge.

Professor Rostand Moutou Pitti’s research group is highly skilled in aspects related to wood engineering materials. We work more on connections and structures. It’s a perfect combination.


What are the perspectives for this collaboration?

I aim to have at least two incoming and outgoing students between Clermont-Ferrand and Kassel each year. Additionally, we will jointly apply for a European research grant in sustainable construction, which will lead to deeper cooperation in the field of doctoral studies.
