Could you introduce yourself in a few words?

I am Yassin da Gloria, a postdoctoral researcher in civil engineering and a researcher in bio-based materials.

What motivated you to come to France?

For over a decade, France has been a leader in research on bio-based materials, particularly plant-based concretes (hemp concrete, etc.). Beyond research, these materials are applied on a large scale in France. All these factors greatly motivated me to come to France.

What are you currently working on at Polytech Clermont?

Development of a floating screed based on fluid wood concrete.

What differences do you notice between your country and France in your field?

In France, there is more collaboration between private companies and universities, which facilitates the implementation and practical application of research.

What do you appreciate the most since your arrival?

The calmness of the city and the courtesy of its residents.

A message for students or your colleagues?

Visiting a new country, spending time there, and being open to new knowledge and cultures is invaluable.
